# What is Bounce Rate?

The percentage of visitors who leave your site after viewing only one page without any further interaction.

Bounce rate measures the percentage of single-page sessions — visits where the user lands on a page and leaves without navigating to any other page or triggering a meaningful interaction.

A high bounce rate on a landing page might indicate that the content doesn't match user expectations, the page loads too slowly, or the call-to-action isn't compelling. However, context matters: a high bounce rate on a blog post or support article might be perfectly normal if users found the answer they needed.

Modern analytics tools often distinguish between "hard bounces" (user leaves immediately) and "soft bounces" (user reads content but doesn't navigate further), giving a more nuanced view of engagement.

## Example

Your pricing page has a 25% bounce rate, meaning 75% of visitors continue to another page (often the signup page). Your blog has an 80% bounce rate, which is normal since readers often find what they need in one article.
